Trilogy System Technology

The Radioterapia Siglo XXI Medical Center

It offers, for cancer treatments, one of the best equipment that can be used. With advanced technology we offer maximum results seeking the comfort and well-being of the patient during their stay in our clinic. Below, we present the robust and flexible equipment used in our facilities.

Trilogy® System is optimized for the treatment of a wide range of radiotherapy and radiosurgery patients. Intended to raise the level of care while reducing treatment costs, the Trilogy® System is a reliable workhorse with advanced functionality.

With robotic imaging arms and multiple treatment modalities (including stereotactic radiosurgery) there are few limits to the type of clinical treatments we can offer.

ExacTrac

by Brainlab

What is Brainlab ExacTrac?

ExacTrac® is an X-ray-based monitoring system that is installed in the treatment room and is capable of detecting intrafraction movements of the tumor during irradiation, regardless of the angle of the gantry or table.

With instant x-ray acquisition and a unique 6D fusion function, the system displays position data quickly and with high accuracy and reduces the possibility of positioning errors due to patient movements or internal anatomical displacements.

In conjunction with the linear accelerator, a wide range of treatments can be applied with improvements in patient positioning and monitoring, including cranial and body procedures. This revolutionary technology combines infrared camera tracking technology with real-time X-ray tracking in a single system, allowing extraordinary precision to be achieved.

Accuracy based on internal anatomy

The ExacTrac X-Ray monitoring function provides an exceptional position verification tool based on the patient's internal anatomy. If unwanted deviations or displacements occur from the prescribed treatment position, these are automatically detected during treatment administration and indicated immediately.

Which pathologies benefit the most from this new technology?

All. Varian's Trilogy accelerator allows radiotherapy treatments to be applied to small and large lesions. Thanks to Brainlab's new ExacTrac equipment we will have greater capacity to treat small or difficult-to-visualize lesions such as:

Non-coplanar verification

ExacTrac The module continuously verifies the patient's initial position established with the linear accelerator IGRT system throughout the treatment delivery process, with the help of the x-ray acquisition system. ExacTrac is able to detect potential patient position errors even when non-coplanar table angles are used and radiation is being delivered.

Benefits for the patient

FASTER TREATMENTS: Previously, a radiotherapy session lasted an average of 20 minutes, now it will last an average of 10 minutes, this thanks to the imaging and monitoring system which is much faster, allowing the scanning of the patient and its correct location to be automatic, this process being more agile and faster.

GREATER PRECISION AND ACCURACY: Thanks to the new real-time uncertainties when applying the treatment and having constant monitoring while the radiation beam is applied.

INFRARED CAMERAS: Thanks to the new external monitoring system guided by infrared cameras, it is possible to perform exact positioning of the patient, based on the optical detection of the placed markers.

AUTOMATED ALIGNMENT IN REAL TIME: The new stretcher incorporated into the ExacTrac system consists of a 6-dimensional movement, this allows for automated patient location, which allows greater agility in treatments.

All of this translates into treatments with the greatest possible precision, which will allow higher doses to be delivered in shorter periods of time, that is, shorter regimens with fewer sessions, but with dose delivery with the highest precision, contributing to the maximum possible protection of the surrounding healthy tissue.
